Synopsis: Red Phoenix

There's something a little inhuman about Erika Soma - and with good reason. The seemingly ordinary thirty-something woman is a fox spirit in disguise, and she's got a mission: to finally rise to the ninth and highest rank of her kind, a title that's eluded her for centuries. But life's just not that simple for Erika, who rapidly finds herself dealing with a feisty young cat spirit, competing affections from two fellow foxes, and the fact that her well-made plans for doing good don't seem to be as well-laid as she'd thought. And underneath it all, war threatens the spirit world - the opposing faction may very well be led by Erika's own sister.
