Synopsis: White Dog

Book 1: After Polly is acquitted of the slaughter of her family, she must help a surly pair of witchhunting brothers stop the ongoing murders, while trying to rebuild her life alone in a colonial town not entirely convinced of her innocence.

Poetic Interlude 1:
The brothers Fell went riding out
Into the woodsy wild
And came across a specter there:
A weeping white-eyed child.

Book 2: Polly travels with the witchfinders who acquitted her to the home of her uncle, hoping for a new life after the murder of her family. But her uncle is nowhere to be found, and no one seems to care. Meanwhile, the brothers investigate a man who was shot through the heart in a robbery--and lived.

Poetic Interlude 2:
There is a green, green valley and a small, small house within,
And there a young, young man lives with his bride all bright and trim,
And every night a green, green lady screams a song at him:
"Sleep in fear, my darling son.
"Sleep until the rise of sun.
"Sleep until your life is done."
The young, young man grows weaker every time he hears her hymn.

Book 3: The reluctant new maidservant of the brothers Fell, Polly follows them to a village where the secretly impure are being impaled and consumed--and learns she may be the only person able to confront the murderer. But someone else is seeking the killer...someone with deep ties to the Fells and their nervous valet Simon.
