Synopsis: Sunsoaked Insomnia
Elliot Harper is a young girl with one problem: she can't sleep. One night when insomnia strikes, she curls up her coffee tables and gets a grand idea. For every night that she can't fall asleep, she will write a letter to someone. Anyone, anywhere, or no one at all, but she will write. She tells her friends about this project and they begin to do it, too. What may come out of the sleepless nights of a group of friends? Love? Adventure? Death? No one will know until the sun rises.
Excerpt: Sunsoaked Insomnia
Today is the fifth day that I haven't been able to fall asleep. I have spent so many hours during nights just like tonight sitting around with nothing to do. I spend all my time waiting on the sun to rise, or waiting for my head to hit the pillow. It’s endless and lonely and I have no one to talk to. Sitting around like this, I just now got the idea while I was sitting at the coffee table. I think I have figured out a way to put some use to my time. How about this: from now on, for every night that I can't sleep, I will write a letter to someone. It could be to a friend, to a past lover, to a family member, to a stranger, to someone I want to meet. It could be to anyone, or even no one. The letters might be about love, sadness, or adventure, or maybe I’ll tell a story about when I was a kid. I can't imagine what it might say yet, but I have so much to tell. I’m sure this could take up a lot of the empty space I’m not filling with my sleepless nights. We'll just have to wait until the restlessness hits. Maybe I can inspire someone else to write something, that’s what I keep considering. What if I actually change someone’s life? Well, I might be getting carried away. I can do that when I’m tired. There might be a chance that something good can come out of this… or maybe I should just get to sleep.
Until then,
Elliot xx
