Brief Author Bio: I'm a Christian. Christ is my first and chief love. Words are my second love. (Awesome how Christ is called The Word, hey?) I write because my mind is constantly inventing stories and I'd go mad if they all stayed up there together. I love nothing more than a scrap of blank paper and a pencil - unless it be a whole book of blank paper and a black-ink pen. I'm inspired by ordinary things. Dancing is my third love. Nothing better than an empty studio, a boombox, and a pair of ghillies or hard step shoes. Slow treble jigs are win. My three loves are held together by People. Christ is a Person - that's what makes Christianity amazing, because I'm not just following rules but following a Person. I write for and because of People in my life. Dance is amazing because other People train me, make choreography work with me, and appreciate watching that choreography. So, in the interest of caring for these People that make my three loves worth loving, I am studying Nursing. That is the Unenigma that is Me. Here's to surviving November. |

Synopsis: Tales of Manaqua
Manaqua is a valley where quiet reigns, summer comes often, and adventures rarely happen. While the valley was devoid of opportunity for heroic deeds, an adventure could easily be found in the surrounding lands. Herein lie the stories of the bold few who set out in pursuit of the same: adventure-chasers! And believe you me, they nearly always caught one.
Nota Bene: After coming up with the name 'Manaqua' by smushing two Latin words together, the Author googled the term and discovered that it is the name of a place in Nicaragua. Thus, she feels it her solemn duty to inform the General Public that this has no significant bearing on the location (literal or symbolic) of this story whatsoever. Thank you.
Excerpt: Tales of Manaqua
In a time that hardly matters and a place almost nobody has ever seen, there lived the girl named Lura and the boy named Owen. Their ages weren’t very important, but Lura was older than Owen and Owen was taller than Lura. They had a trusty steed named Rhian and a less-than-trusty Thing named Sebastian. Nobody asks Rhian her age; otherwise, she might think you thought her old looking and slow (she was neither) and begin to fret (mostly about looking old). As for Sebastian, as a Thing he probably didn’t have an age, but he did have quite a few sharp teeth to keep people from general inquisitiveness.
All the stories in here are stories of adventure, and they are all true except for the parts Lura and Owen forgot and had to make up again. These are stories of adventure because Lura and Owen were adventure-chasers and went out a-hunting adventures as a regular practice. They nearly always caught one, for Rhian was swift of foot and Owen had a very large sword.
