Brief Author Bio: I recently moved to Springfield, MO from Washington, DC literally the day after I got married. My handsome husband is in grad school at MSU to become a high school social studies teacher. I work with toddlers at a child and family development center. I'm also pregnant with my first child (due in March). Writing has always been something I enjoyed ever since I wrote my first story in second grade. I'm sad to say that I took a bit of a sabbatical from writing novelswhen I was 16 up to recently. I used to like to share my stories with other people, but then I developed this shyness that prohibited that and eventually made it difficult for me to write. I still wrote, but it was mostly just roleplaying at different websites. I hope that NaNoWriMo will help open up the creative floodgates once again and that it will challenge me to share my work with more people! I'm also hoping to meet some people here in the Springfield, MO area. :-) |

Synopsis: An Eclipsing
Evangeline Crutchfield is a lovely young woman who has been plagued with horrendous nightmares, each one building upon the other. What they are ultimately going to show her she does not know, but can only say that she is terrified.
Set in sumptuous regency-era England, the novel is rich in the social customs, marriage season and de rigueur fashions and settings of the time.
Excerpt: An Eclipsing
And so the idle chatter went on and on. I felt like I was being stifled with all the politeness and genteel manners.
It was as I was sitting there that I had a brief flash in my mind that lasted no more than a few moments.
I was in a manor house that was far greater than our own. I could see my terrified reflection in the opulent mirror that hung over the mantel. I was wearing a mask with many bright feathers on it, but my eyes were full of fear. I felt I could not breathe, that I was trapped in that room. I felt the need to hide and I searched the room frantically for a safe place.
When my mind returned to the present, to our pretty little parlour, I looked around for reassurance. Elizabeth's eyes slid over to me and widened slightly. She opened her mouth as if to ask if I was all right, but I said abruptly in a hoarse voice,
“Excuse me, I need some air.”
I could not get out of the parlour fast enough.
