Synopsis:
I am 22 years old. In 8 years, I have started four novels, all of which I have written splendidly until the middle, or close to the end, before I completely loose steam, get a better idea, and then whisk off after that one. That means, that in all of my adult and teen life, I have constantly started things, gotten to the middle, and then quit for something more interesting.
This year I intend to finish a novel. In fact, I intend to finish my very first Nano novel, one of my favorite stories, and in 50,000 words, I hope to fix this chain of quitting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Goddess of the Night, Tsuki, and her once-lover, the God of the Sun, have been at war for as long as there has been history. Their armies rage over the earth, destroying everything in their path. They stop at nothing to find new and more horrible ways to hurt each other. Their war has grown so terrible that even the other gods have gone into excile.
In the unimportant but beautiful kingdom of Coqueron, there is a princess whom Tsuki has cursed. The small sister of the king, Princess Victoria, can never see the sun. To protect her from her affliction, her brother keeps her far away from court in the summer palace. But when the armies of the gods spill over the mountains, Victoria is whisked off to a small house in a small harbor called Visanali. As her keepers hurriedly make the house safe for her, Victoria soon realizes that she is not alone there. The house is still occupied by the dead who once lived there, and in particular, a child named Harriette. Thrilled to have another child to play with, Victoria makes good friends with her ghost companion. They grow up together, run amok on the streets of Visanali together, and even visit a huge congregation of ghosts.
But, when Victoria turns fourteen, her brother calls her to the palace in Coqueron, to join the court. He has a great surprise in store for Victoria, and their diplomat brother, but it is not at all what Victoria expects. The king believes that he has discovered a way to join forces with the god of the sun.... and he does not care who must be sacrificed for his own glory.
