Synopsis: Tales of a Blue Moon Revolution

There is a war going on, one that engulfs every night in black terror. No one is safe, no one is free. Each day brings about nameless casualties, lost loved ones, and more anger. Renegade abominations known as, “Blue Moons” have overrun almost every corner of the globe. Over-zealous officials have torched, bombed, and quarantined thousands of innocent villages, towns, and cities looking for these “Moons” in vain. Bloody battles have become the cornerstone of life, destruction and despair the norm. Caught between the two opposing sides is one young girl who was shielded from the horrors of war since birth, however there comes a time in life where irreversible decisions must be made and consequences accepted. This is that time.

Excerpt: Tales of a Blue Moon Revolution

Nikon awoke with a startled fright; her room was illuminated by the light from her window so much so that everything looked immersed in weightless, peaceful water. She sat up in her bed and looked around. Why was she frightened? Slowly, Nikon got out of her bed and crossed her room, her mother’s necklace glowed all the more brightly as she passed the window and went to the staircase. She called out to see if anyone was there…nothing. Nikon began to climb up the steps, dreadfully aware of the loud moans that they made as she stepped upon them. Once she got to the top she saw that the hallway was vacant. Nikon turned to head back to her room when she heard a loud, ethereal groan. It scared her; she stood rooted to the ground, unable to flee—unable to move at all. It groaned again and again and a fourth time. This time, however, Nikon could sense something. She heard the sound again and realized that the groan was not a groan at all but a cry, perhaps for help? She became very curious about what it could be. It was coming from a certain direction. She looked to her left and saw the big oak door where her nurse slept. She walked past that door, and then another, and another. She got to the labyrinth of halls when she heard the cry again, instead of going right and down two flights of steps, she went left. Tip toeing through an unknown territory she continued, growing more suspicious of the sound as she went on. Finally, Nikon found herself staring at a small wooden door with a dusty gold doorknob. She heard the cry again and reluctantly opened the door. She stood at the doorway for some time until she was sure that she was not in any danger. Then she walked into the room.
“Who’s there?” she called out softly, so softly that it could scarcely be heard over the cries from the unknown. With each step the floor squeaked and it was all she could do but turn and run right back to her room. Yet…
Nikon could hear the cries so clearly now, she turned her head and looked around the empty room. On the wall to her left she noticed something. Carefully she walked up towards it until she could clearly see that it was…only a vent. She kneeled down so that she was looking directly into it. And then it let out another cry, it reverberated through the vent and hit Nikon so hard that she fell over. She scrambled to get away from it and as soon as she was she turned to look.
“…Hello?”

A tale hidden in a web of deceit, a destiny entangled between opposing forces, and a moon with ability to heal and empower. This is the story of Nikon Asahina and the Revolution.
