Brief Author Bio: I am a writer, speaker, teacher and advocate for those who cope with chronic mental illness. I am the former Executive Director of a 501(c)3 non-profit peer support clubhouse for adults with severe mental illness. I have led numerous support groups for persons with many types of mental illness and those who support them. I am particularly interested in promoting and advocating the affordable effectiveness of the "clubhouse" model of peer support as well as the efficacy of psychiatric service animals as 24/7 support systems for people coping with issues such as anxiety, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), Agoraphobia, and debilitating panic attacks. BUT...can I successfully complete this NaNo challenge? I have chickened out year after year, but I decided to give it a go in 2008. I successfully completed 2008 with 60,000 words -- can I do it again in 2009? Yikes! |

Synopsis: Megan's Divine Nation
Fictional guide to the tarot written by a Gypsy girl who is taught the meanings of the cards by her grandmother. Everything is disguised so no one would suspect that the keys to reading the tarot are contained within Megan's "story."
Note: Megan's real story and escape from WWII Germany/Poland was written during last year's Nano so this is a companion piece to that one. Next year will be a third, decades later when her descendants, 2 young girls, find her diary and try to piece together what really happened and what the "Divine Nation" story is all about.
