Brief Author Bio:

This is my first year to do NaNoWriMo. I'm really excited, even though I'm not quite sure how I'm going to finish a novel in one month while going to school and knitting on Christmas gifts.

I'm going to do my best to ignore mistakes and editing issues.

My name is Alice, I'm a Public Relations major, French minor at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have two more semesters left (graduating in Aug. 2010) until I am officially done with school!

I'm happily engaged and getting married on March 13, 2010.

I'm a clown by profession. Yes, a clown. Bamboo is my clown name, and my little maltese, Sushi, sometimes joins me. (Get it? Bamboo & Sushi!) I also have a ferret named Snarf, who is a bit of a turd and likes to steal pens, pencils, and shoes.

Follow me on twitter @adorablyalice for updates on knitting, nanowrimo, and general oddities.

Synopsis: Tangled Dreams

Nadia and her twin brother, Aidan, are in their final year at Breena, the Fae academy, and their future seems bright. And then Aidan’s best friend, Ryan is murdered. Nadia finds herself haunted by Ryan’s spirit. Seeing his ghost everywhere, Nadia accidentally brings Ryan back to life and discovers that she is a Spirit Walker, the only one to have been born among the Fae for centuries.

When the dark Fae discover that a Spirit Walker has been awakened, they begin to set in motion a plan to make her one of them. Because in order to release the dark Fae god, they need a Spirit Walker to release him from his prison in the other realm.

Excerpt: Tangled Dreams

Everything around me was misty and gray. To my right, I could see the sun shining and the garden gate of Ea in the distance. To my left, the dark forest of the Shadowed Veil sat, spider webs glinting beneath the thin sliver of a crescent moon.
Looking toward Ea, I could see the spectral form of Ryan. He was too far for me to make out the details of his face, but I knew it was him. I heard his voice in my head, You cannot come here, Nadia. You must go back.
But you can come here, another voice said in my mind.
Though I did not recognize the second voice, I knew it came from the Shadowed Veil. I turned away from Ryan and the garden gates of Ea and peered into the shadows of the dark forest. I couldn’t see anything but spider webs.
Come, little one, the seductive voice said silkily, and I found myself drawn to it. My friends will show you the way.
I heard the familiar scattering sound that had appeared in my dreams so many times in the past. Without seeing them, I knew the spiders had come.
Come, my love, the silky voice said. You are dearest to me, and I have missed you so.
Run, Ryan’s voice sounded in my mind, shattering the hold the other voice held in my mind. Run!
Without hesitation, I turned toward Ea, and ran.
