Brief Author Bio:

I have just recently graduated from college with a BA in Cinematic Arts.

I am an aspiring filmmaker and am using NaNoWriMo (which I've participated in before) as a way to get around to writing a couple of screenplays I have in development.

Synopsis: Sick Brothers

Instead of writing a novel this year, I am writing two screenplays.

In keeping with an old idea that has fallen out of fashion, I'm writing "One for the studio, one for myself". The "studio" (in other words, salable, mainstream, Hollywood narrative) screenplay is a vampire movie set in a prison in the Southwest. The "myself" (in other words, artsy, indie, dramatic) screenplay is about twin brothers in an incestual relationship.

Excerpt: Sick Brothers

LINDSAY

You're brother has really gotten to you. Take it from me, Samuel, the man seems like a real hysteric, paranoid freak.

SAMUEL

But--!

LINDSAY

No, really, I don't know what Vanessa sees in him, but..

SAMUEL

Vanessa?

LINDSAY

Oh yeah, Vanessa. She adores your brother. From what I saw of him tonight, he's a real asshole.

SAMUEL

Vanessa? She--he won't... he doesn't like her.

LINDSAY

(waving flippantly)

That's neither here nor there. What has your brother done to you? You're an emotional wreck.

Samuel arches his shoulders in complete tension. He glares down at the table as if trying to burn through it with his eyes.

SAMUEL

Are you going to start telling me sick things now?

LINDSAY

(taken aback)

What?

SAMUEL

Everybody I talk to, except my brother. They always end up telling me sick things. Bad things.

Lindsay likes her lips and speaks carefully.

LINDSAY

No. No, Samuel, I won't be telling you any sick things.
