Brief Author Bio: Hi, I'm Marie and 2009 will be my very first NaNo year. I'm very excited. I'm currently completing my Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing at Victoria Universtity and my ultimate goal is to be a published author. I know, REALLY original. *eye roll* I'm currently working on a novel titled 'Long Road Home'. It's technically 'chick lit' but it's definitely not fluffy and pink-covered. It's dark and gritty with mature themes such as suicide, murder, guilt and revenge. I'll read just about anything, though I'm not a fan of horror, historical fiction or Australian literature. I'll try writing anything once but my major genre would be chick lit/romance. I have dabbled in fantasy and thrillers. The first "novel" I ever finished was about a cat who was a house cat by day and leader of the local cat gang by night. It was 36 pages long and I was ten years old. |

Synopsis: One Night in Vegas
When Miranda McGarvy, a neurotic editor for Goldberg Books in Melbourne, wakes up to find she has married a stranger in Las Vegas, her initial reaction is shock and disbelief. That's the kind of thing that only ever happens in movies and cheesy chick lit, right?
She runs away, secure in the knowledge that she will never see the "husband" again. But then she returns to work only to find he's her new boss.
