Brief Author Bio: I have always enjoyed writing and wanted to write a book. Began my quest with a nonfiction book in mind, but it took a bit of a turn and I think perhaps something less "heavy" is what I'm meant to focus my energies on. I love culinary mysteries and my goal is to write (and publish) one (in a series)! |

Synopsis: Gourd to Death
This culinary mystery involves, Spencer McBride, who suddenly finds herself no longer someone's wife, and moves back in with her parents. She has opened a bookstore cafe combo with one of her college roommates. She's hoping to jump start her business with a booth at the annual Mammoth Cove Pumpkin Festival, but, crafting a new "normal" can be murder!
Excerpt: Gourd to Death
She was still pondering the reasoning behind this sudden bout of togetherness her mother was feeling when she glanced at the calendar and saw the date. It was the 16th of October…she couldn’t believe how busy she’d made herself that she’d actually forgotten that today was the 16th. That was the point of making herself that monumentally busy, though, wasn’t it?, she thought. To forget. It would have been 6 years today. Just as she was sliding headlong into the memories of the flowers, guests, cake, sunshine and songs, Jack walked into the backroom whistling and broke the spell.
It was not her wedding day. It was no longer her anniversary day to celebrate and she had a lot of preparation to do for the Pumpkin Fest next week. Besides, it still hurt too much to remember that she wasn’t married anymore.
