Synopsis: Survival by Death
Kara was an avid student, a quick learner. Not exactly top of the class, but who wants to be when you’re studying methods to kill? And when you aren’t sure if this is how you want to make a living, it’s all you can do to stop yourself from failing.
In the world of Aestyor, assassins are feared and awed by all; Kara’s got all that it takes, and the envy of most students as a ward of the famous Lo/cen Starastor, the man who first saved one man by killing another.
But Kara isn’t sure if she wants this life; her instinct is to get out, away from her frosty guardian. The only thing keeping her there, besides the 14 foot walls that surround the mysterious academy where she lives is her friends.
Even if Kara can get out, past the ever watching gatekeeper, how will she know to avoid the dangers that wait for her? What will she do with any newfound freedom? And what about the mysterious boy who knows of her forgotten past?

I tensed, heart pounding, blood coarsing through my veins, though whther it was from the excitement of seeing him again, or the fear of what could happen, I wasn't sure.
