Brief Author Bio:

I never had much of a passion for anything. But lately, inspiration is something I can say I've finally experienced. I'm at last developing a personal motivation, for my blacksmithing, and a drive motivated by imagination and friends, for the writing I will be doing. With ideas pouring into me, I can't wait to let them out this November.

Synopsis: Instinctual

Derek Adams was a regular guy in his early 20's before he got thrust into a world layered on top of our own. Suddenly he finds out his cat could talk, his best friend hunted evil creatures for a living and magic was in casual abundance. Now he's running for his life as wave after wave of attackers of all species and ability come after him.

Excerpt: Instinctual

In a slight panic, I run through my kitchen to see what had happened. Looking at the wreckage that was my living room, I see that one of the giant pine trees from my front yard was lying angled against my house. It had crashed half-way through the roof so that it didn’t take down the rest of the abode. Barely having time to realize that a piece of the roof had destroyed my Nintendo, I look through the hole that was once a door frame and see a giant brown wolf running past.
The wolf sees me and, with a determined look on his furry face, starts running towards me when what looked like a ball of crackling lightning clips it in the shoulder. After spinning around and slamming into the ground, it looks back at me, then in the direction of the blast, gets up and starts running down the street. A figure facing away from me steps into view wearing a black trench coat, a dark grey beanie, and holding a gun in the direction of the wolf. The figure steadies the gun and fires another soccer ball-sized lightning blast straight into the wolf’s back. The giant mass crashes face-first into the ground and remains motionless.
