Synopsis: Cirque
Susan lives alone with her abusive father in a small country town: an outsider, dismissed and disliked for her loneliness and the images of a sad, dying clown that haunt her day and night. When the circus arrives in town, she sneaks out with the money she's stashed away, only to find that not even a night of escapism can protect her from the bullying of her school friends or from the terrifying clown of her visions. Because he is with the circus, and he has chosen her for a task that scares her more than any dream image can-- to replace him, join the circus, and lead the dwindling band of alien refugees who hide within the circus' canvas walls towards escape from Earth or a final, irrevocable extinction
