About Saskia

Location: No.

Website: Nuh-uh.

Favorite novels: Anything Harry Potter, The Book Thief, The House of the Scorpion, I Capture the Castle, Kristin Lavransdatter (all three), Bloomability, Paper Towns, Saffy's Angel, Jellicoe Road. I'm only halfway through David Copperfield right now, but so far it goes on this list.

Favorite writers: As people, do you mean? Or as writers? People who fit both are J.K. Rowling, Sigrid Undset, John Green, Jessica Mitford... oh, there are others, probably. And I love Roald Dahl, though I'd shudder to have known him in real life.

Favorite music: Harry Potter soundtrack, (any soundtrack, really), Enya, Celtic Woman. I can't listen to anything much with lyrics or a fast beat while I write.

Non-noveling interests: Languages, ice-skating, travel, baking, attempting to draw, talking to people, astronomy (kinda).

Brief Author Bio:

Hi!

(If you were wondering. I have not donated NOT because I am a silly old sourpuss who has no interest in the development of writers... but because I am a poor student with no credit card. Terribly sorry.)

Synopsis: The As-Of-Yet Titleless Novel

I don't really have a synopsis yet. I mean, I've got notes and a sort of outline and everything, but it's a mere shadow of the story's skeleton, rather than the skeleton itself, if that makes any sense. Sigh.

Excerpt: The As-Of-Yet Titleless Novel

All that talk about clones was still hammering at her head; it was too hard. Simply too hard. There was so much to think about; feel; understand – and she couldn’t –
She couldn’t decide whether to run headlong back into the hall-tunnel or to climb up to the loft bed and read under the covers as she’d planned. She couldn’t decide whether to shout for help or to whisper to this stranger to leave at once, because she couldn’t bear any more. Instead, she found herself standing stone-like, watching – waiting.
This is the kind of thing that happened when she got scared.
With a small thump, the person moving in through the window – large green book still clearly visible and clutched between his arms – dropped the couple of feet from the sill and entered the room fully.
