Synopsis: Trespass
The novel Trespass is a story about the life, tragedies, and loves of a woman named Patricia Davis. Born into a broken yet prideful family Patricia had already lost so much of her potential from the moment she was born. With a mother who only wanted her for the few dollars, and food stamps given to her by the state, and a father who couldn’t love her enough, Patricia fought hard to make a way for herself. The only true person to stand by her through the battles of Life was Aunt May, who had long ago promised to never abandon Patricia, and to always love her, but that love seemed to never be enough to fill the wounds Patricia bared. In this novel Patricia find out the truth about her past, why was her father absent?, what really happened to Grandma Susan?, and what was the only true person in her life hiding from her? you will become familiar with a beautiful yet troubled African American girl who grew to be a strong black woman.
Excerpt: Trespass
“How are you going to feed her?” Sue asked, trying to sound disappointed that her baby girl had gotten knocked up, repeating the cycle to uniform. “where she going to live Ann?, it don’t seem like Jamaal want any part of this, how come he didn’t call or nothing, most men come to the hospital when they got a baby on the way” she continued. Ann just looked out of the hospital window, appearing to ignore her mother altogether. She was wondering where in the hell was Jamaal, and way was he so scared? “ You hear me Ann?, I asked you a question, what is your plan, you’ve had 9 month t figure out what you were going to o, instead you laid about giving what was already gotten to Jamaal, now what?” Sue said, not letting up. She’d wish someone had said the same to her, but she was born in a time where it was thought the only thing a black woman had that was of any use, was the thing between her legs which allow her to have babies for the state and get a little compensation for it. Ann didn’t answer; Sue got up and walked out of the room, walked down the stairs, and out the front door of the hospital with tears in her eyes. That night when she got home, Sue sipped on warm Brandy, and listened to some Johnny Taylor athen fell asleep in Rays arm chair.
