Brief Author Bio: T.C. Dawson doesn't get much accomplished because he is soundly asleep and dreaming peanut butter dreams. He dreamed of Heaven once, and he is happy to report that George Washington Carver was there along with shelves upon shelves of the creamy stuff. Synopsis: Walks-on-One-Side: the Legend of Toe Halloway
In this blend of western and horror, Ward "Toe" Halloway, a war-time reporter, wishes only to go home to his family in Kansas. When the unit of rangers he accompanies is all but destroyed in a bizarre Apache ambush, he tries to find his way on his own when he comes upon the remains of a stagecoach with a single survivor, Esperanza Truenos, a cook from Mexico. Unable to help her, Ward is compelled to find a local “doctor,” who turns out to be someone he knows from his childhood, a man named Silas Mahaffie, who is about to be run out of town for selling faulty medicine and faultier religion. Together, the three of them travel to Ward’s home only to find it has been mysteriously ransacked, and the answers draw them curiously back to the tribe of Apaches that originally attacked Ward’s unit, and to the officer who led the ill-fated rangers.
