Brief Author Bio: Currently I am a Specialist in the Army Reserves, and senior specialist of a supply team for my unit, making me the mid-level supervisor. I also work at Barnes Crossing Mall, in GameStop, and am currently taking a break from school. When I return to college, I will be picking back up a theatre degree, with emphasis on costume design and construction. I've done NaNoWriMo every year but one since my senior year of high school; the one year I missed I was at training for the military. Since beginning NaNo, I have pulled in roughly half a dozen other participants, and occasionally I serve as an area liaison for Mississippi. |

Synopsis: The Dreamer Saga: Seeing
Elia Sindra, a member of the secretive group of people known only as the In-Tune, places herself in great risk by captaining a ship - known as the Naiya - whose crew consists entirely of the Tuneless. She is a Seer, a dreamer who can look into time - both behind and ahead - in her dreams and bring that information back upon her waking. However, the Tuneless fear those like her, and should her secret get out, she may lose her captaincy. But Elia has one more secret - a secret far more dangerous than being an In-Tune. And if that secret reaches the wrong hands, it will be more than her own destiny at risk. She must embark on a journey across the oceans of Sarris - within both realms - to See and to be Seen.
Excerpt: The Dreamer Saga: Seeing
The thundering boom of cannons caused the air around her to shudder, as if it had been injured by the passing of the deadly balls of metal. Violent wind caused her hair to whip about her face, stinging her cheeks and making her flinch away from the force of the strikes. She sighed, shaking her head, and stepped off the deck of the ship, slowly rising into the air until she was away from the stink of blood and death, where the winds were calmer and she could see the Veil, shimmering in its unearthly glow.
Another joined her beneath that otherworldly sky, and she turned to see who had approached. Her lips curved into a dry smile as she brushed black hair out of her face, two mismatched eyes staring at her new companion. “What brings you to this when tonight, friend?” she asked, though her lips never once parted.
The man gestured to the scene below. “A request from a Watcher in my when, to See his former captain.”
She nodded and turned back to the scene. “So much death. Things never change, though, do they?”
“Of course not. That’s why we don’t See very often, isn’t it?”
“Mm.” The silver embroidery on the collar of her jacket flashed as the sun rose above the clouds. The light felt no different than any other sunlight, but she could tell from its position that she had traveled back many years. She was Seeing some long-ago battle on the seas of her world, and was witnessing the deaths of good sailors and a fine vessel. “I must go. The sun rises in my when. Farewell, Seer.”
“And you, Seer. May you never lose your Way.”
The woman nodded, giving a slight bow, and crossed the Veil. For a brief moment, she could see others in the distance, crossing from one side of the Veil to the other, though a few were stationary. She glanced back through the Veil, and then hurried away…
