Synopsis: No Kentu

Do I know much about the cultures of Japan, Korea, and Vietnam? No, in fact I know almost nothing. But this isn't stopping me from writing a fantasy tale in a pseudo-Japanese world! According to legend, long ago an order of mystic warrior knights watched over the people of the Sayogahl islands. They were free men, leaders, and protectors, and were said to wield remarkable powers. But then invaders came from beyond the encircling Mists, and brought great numbers and devastating gunpower-based weapons with them. In a single war they seemingly destroyed all the of the knights. For many generations the Sayogahli people have lived under the rule of the occupying Norns. But as harmony breaks down and the Norns become suddenly cruel and punitive, a young boy who believes in the legend finds his way to a mountain monastery, determined to discover the lost order of the Kentu knights, to train in their ways, and to lead a rebellion to free the Sayogahli.
