Brief Author Bio: Born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA, I now live 3,200 miles away in eastern North Carolina between Greenville and Washington, where I moved for the woman I love and married in 2006. Books and TV shows about clever characters and plots inspire me to weave my own tales. I once wrote a 125-page first-draft (on an ancient IBM PS/2 all-in-one PC, no less) but it's since been lost and I have not been successful in rewriting it. Hopefully this month, I will be. |

Synopsis: Darkthunder
Zetlin Darkthunder is an eligible bachelor and lord of a small province who finds himself the caretaker of his mysterious, previously unknown to him kid sister, a quiet, moody child who knows who killed their father, and who also may be the only one who can stop an evil force threatening to devastate the land.
Excerpt: Darkthunder
Meeting Kreylar... Zetlin remembered that he'd been thinking about that the day before, before he met Alyssia. And now he'd have nearly two full days -- they were making good time -- to catch up with his sister, whom he'd just met. "Hey," she said quietly. "Tell me about when you met Kreylar."
How had she known -- had she known he was thinking about his friend? That was impossible. Or... was it? He'd held her this morning, and they'd shared her memory when he tried to charm her out of her nightmare. He'd tried to charm her using magic. And she was somehow able to resist some magic, and repel other magic. Now that he thought about it, she probably had reflected the charm, as he recalled his apprehension of first meeting her. It had been gone all today. He'd been a different person, acting as though she were his natural daughter, and he'd known her all her life. Or somehow, all of his. But even if she had simply reflected his charm, how had she gotten inside his head? Or, had she?
"Zetlin?" she asked, punching his right leg, probably not as hard as she could, but close enough. It was enough to snap him out of his thoughts, and back into the present. There wasn't much else to talk about, and they did have a lot of catching up to do.
