Brief Author Bio: I've been interested in NaNoWriMo for the last few years, but never had the courage to attempt it while in school - I usually wasn't getting enough sleep in the first place, and by November, I always had a huge list of other projects to focus on. (Yeah, excuses excuses.) Now that I've graduated, I don't really feel like I'm pushing myself anymore, which makes this the perfect time for NaNoWriMo. I'm also trying to figure life out a bit, and I'm moving into my first apartment ever at the end of October, so again, it seems like the perfect time to start something new. So this year, I have NO excuses. I live in Batesville, AR, putting me in driving distance of Jonesboro, Conway, or Little Rock in a pinch. It was a difficult choice to pick a home region! I would really love to be able to actually meet some other WriMos in person. The plot I have in mind is fantasy, and I'm thinking young adult. I haven't for certain decided that I'm going to go with this idea, but it's something that's been sitting in the back of my head for a while. I'm a little shy about talking details in public, but I'm perfectly willing to talk about it more to one or two people, and I love a good brainstorming session. At the moment, I'm not really believing I'll win, but that doesn't I won't try. It just means I'll be okay with it if I don't make it - this is my first time trying, and I think the experience is going to be important no matter what. It's a way for me to force myself to think creatively again, since I haven't done anything new since graduating, and that's honestly more important than any number of words. |
