Brief Author Bio: I am an academic in pursuit of the most ironic form of distraction: rather that write my dissertation, I will write a novel in one month. I figured, why not, since I don't have to present this to a critical NaNoWriMo reading committee at the end of November, my degree doesn't rest on the results, and no one expects me to produce brilliance - just 50,000 words. Who knows? Maybe I'll find a new calling after this, or maybe I'll actually be damn glad to return to my dissertation in December. |
