Everyone knows that life peaks at the end of senior year. Elementary and Middle School are both preparation for high school, the be-all-end-all of life. High school is your prime – it’s the hottest you’ll ever be, with the greatest friends you’ll ever have and the most time you’ll ever have to spend with them. The required work is easy – the bar is set lower every year to help with graduation statistics, and depending on what your parents require you’ll only have to work is between ten and twenty hours a week. After high school everything is up for grabs. Your friends are spread out everywhere, there’s the freshmen fifteen, all the extra study time and just so much work without the opportunity to do all the activities you could in high school. And that’s if you even go to college. You could just work at Bob Evans full time until they make you manager and your lipstick choice becomes increasingly irrational and you feel so lonely you have to address every customer as “sweetie” to feel like you have friends. Yes, high school is the high point. It’s the start of my senior year, I’m supposed to be top dog, and with all of these things in mind, I can’t believe that I am way behind schedule. Shit.
