Brief Author Bio: I write every day, finding inspiration in the wild places of Britain and the quirkiness of my adopted home town of Brighton. Most of my new work is first penned on my wanderings, so the big challenge for my first NaNo is going to be - can I sit still in front of the computer screen for long enough? |

Synopsis: redletterday
A few twists and turns with black humour.
In the closing days of his life, Henny is trying to give away the fortune that has never brought him happiness. As if rebelling at what he has chosen to do with it, some of the cash gets lost, then found, then lost again. On Friday 13th, it finds a way to reach Eleanor who isn't having the kind of day she expected at all.
Excerpt: redletterday
It said - redletterday. Written just like that. All in one, with joined up letters, so it would fit inside the space in her pocket diary. She'd written it there months ago when the date was first set, when the countdown had begun. Today, she smiled as she scribbled around the square on the kitchen calendar with a bright orange marker pen, got a bit carried away. Exuberant circles now obscured the neighbouring squares. As her whole world now centred on that date, she no longer needed a calendar to tell her when it was. She knew exactly which day it was. Friday 13th. Talk about going out with a bang. It was what she intended to do.
