Excerpt:

She sat in the middle of the booth looking around the dimly lit club while holding the glass of water in both her hands, as if trying to protect it. The club was unusually packed tonight. There were people packed from the stage on her right to the bar on her left. Talking, laughing, drinking and totally oblivious to the door, directly across the room from her, opening. The light from the street lamps outside seemed oddly bright and acted as a sort of blinder blocking the person who had just come in from Zoe’s curious eyes. The door shut with an echo that caused everyone, including the band and bartenders, to stop what they were doing and look. Zoe couldn’t take her eyes off the man who was making his way across the crowded room. He was tall with brown or black hair, his black shirt seemed made to sit just right against his body that it hinted of the muscle just beneath it. He moved with a grace and power fitting someone of great importance. Zoe watched as the crowd seemed to part for him. She looked at his face and was instantly drawn to his dark eyes. Eyes she could lose herself in for days and that were staring back at her. She realized where he was headed but couldn’t make herself move, so she just sat there staring as he made his way to her. When he reached her table he didn’t say a word, just put his hand out for hers and waited. She put her hand in his he lead her to the dance floor. Besides nodding to the band, which made them start playing again, he never took his eyes off her. Zoe could feel the eyes of the other people in the club on them but didn’t care. All she could think about was him. His arm slid around her waist, his hand took hers and they began dancing. Staring into each other’s eyes made the hours of dancing seem only like moments. He stopped dancing and leaned in to kiss her. Zoe closed her eyes and waited for the taste of his lips…
