I walked up to the massive front doors, painted a shiny black and looked into the iron eyes of the metal gargoyle knocker, trying to decide how best to use the demonic looking knocker. My hand tentatively touched the cool metal of the ring in the gargoyles nose. Taking a deep breath, I lifted the oversized knocker ring and allowed it to fall down upon his enormous belly. A tiny thud echoed in the doorway as I reached up again, this time putting more effort into the endeavor to attract some attention from those inside the mansion. This time, the sound was louder, metal upon metal, almost tinny but certainly cold. The door glided open and my first glance inside, was of a pair of electric green eyes glowing at me. Startled, I squealed and then said, “Excuse me” breathlessly….
