Elin, a young girl when this all begins, grows in the lands of the humans being beaten and tread upon by them and slowly her anger grows. Until one day it becomes a full fledged hatred. Along with her lover Kehi Elin flees the castle in order to begin the resistance they feel their people so greatly need to form.
But when another tragedy at the hands of man befalls Elin, she begins to loose sight of what she has been striving for. As she prepares her people for a full on war with the humans, will she become just like them? For there is a thin, blurred line between good and evil.
Excerpt: Thin, Blurred Line
With each step she felt that strong resolve shake and try to shatter but held it back the best she could as the tears stayed welled up in her eyes. As the black hole grew larger she finally had to look to the ground not able to face it any longer. A scream shattered her ears as she looked up at the exact moment that the boy that had been in front of her was pushed into the pit.
His screams seemed to echo for hours before they were finally silenced by what she assumed to be the bottom of the pit. She felt herself shake as she was pushed forward and steadied herself as fast as she could so she wouldn’t topple in by accident. Wide eyes staring into the blackness her mind reeled wondering what could wait at the bottom. Would the fall alone kill her on impact or was there some horrid beast that waited at the bottom to slowly devour her while she screamed in terror and agony?
