Synopsis: The World Walker

When the universe is an open book to you, what wouldn't you do?

An ordinary girl finds her life turned upside down when she discovers the ability to travel to imaginary literary places. Unfortunately, not every place is safe and happy and it can be even worse when she can't even control these abilities. Fear and uncertainty are married with excitement, adventure and possibility, and it all begins with the spark of a writer's idea.

Excerpt: The World Walker

Time slowed down- at least that’s what it felt like. He leaned in toward her, and her eyes slid closed as her lips puckered ever so slightly. A thrill went through her stomach: her first kiss!

That thrill, however, did not stop, it continued until it was swirling through her head, making her dizzy as she stood there with her hand in Sam’s. Everything felt as though it was melting away, and she began to think that it was like in the silly romance novels that she and some of the other girls in school would sneak and read, where the world just stopped until the two lovers’ lips met for the first time. Anticipation roiled in her stomach; this was taking an eternity.

She expected a soft, dare she say tender brush of his lips against hers. What she did not expect was for the side of her face to suddenly be doused with icy water.

Her eyes flew open and she recoiled- or at least tried to. It was very difficult to recoil when one was lying down. The fact that she was on the ground was not the most troubling revelation she had. No, it was more than that. Her kitchen had vanished from around her, Sam was nowhere to be found and she was lying on her stomach in a very shallow puddle.
