Excerpt: Their faces in pictures

Have you ever wanted to start over? A clean slate? A new beginning? A fresh start? Maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t. I don’t remember anymore. At any rate, I can’t imagine I would have wanted it to end up like this. Then again, I don’t remember.
Perhaps I should tell you my name. My name is Naomi. Naomi Blake. At least that is what “they” tell me. Who are “they”? They, are my parents. Joe and Mary. Theirs were the two faces I saw when I woke up. I didn’t know them. They said it was okay, and that in time I would remember. Time. I had all the time in the world it seemed. Time to sit and stare at the walls from my hospital bed. I would try to remember. Then came the headaches. Terrible migraines. The doctor said I was trying too hard. His name was Doctor Jackson. You’re probably wondering what happened? Perhaps I should start at the beginning...
