Excerpt: The Gem Sisters - Jade's Story
“Garen, lower your bow,” the man in purple spoke with authority. As he spoke she noticed that this Garen person listened.
What an intriguing pair of men. Jade was calculating how much both men weighed to decide if she should try to disarm them. The man in purple looked like he was reading her mind when he turned to look Jade in the eyes and said, “I assure you little girl you are at a disadvantage here. Is Grand Master Eli here?”
“Yes.” She chose not to tell them that he was dead; a mere shell of a man that once commanded 100 monks. Garen was commanded to go and retrieve Eli as he chose to do some looking around the room.
“What is your name girl?”
“What is your name?” Jade looked back at him defiantly. The response seemed to amuse him. This was not what she expected. Nor the rage that seemed to well up within her.
