Synopsis: The Assembler

Steampunk story of cyphers, alchemy, magic and love.

Ned is a bastard. Literally. He's also brilliant, driven, oblivious to his own good points, and in hiding from Britain's Secret Service, having pissed them off when he'd quit an operation that had gone very, very wrong. He's been in hiding but has to return to England to rescue the woman he loves. Who is it who kidnapped her and why is he that desperate to get Ned to help him crack a cypher? And just whose cypher is it?
