Excerpt: Untitled
The Measure glowed with an eerie light that made each black note stand out along the sectioned lines they rested on. Barklov frowned thoughtfully at the still notes. The notes themselves meant nothing if someone just studied them for a while. To the old High Priest, they spoke volumes. This Measure, this single parchment, is the foundation of all he knew –all everyone in Rhapsody knew. It is their life blood and their great weakness. A gnarled hand appeared from the front of his robe and reached out as if to touch the pristine surface of the Measure.
