Brief Author Bio:

Aside from the fact that I'm this freakishly odd sort of girl who dreams of being a writer and suffers from occasional mood swings, there's nothing much interesting to tell about me.

Synopsis: At the Edge of Time

A strange accident on board the frigate "Wilderness" leads Leonard Duncan to suspect his shipmate Jonathan of murder, and shortly after the Wilderness reaches port, Leonard disappears.

Two years later, mysterious deaths are happening in the city where Jonathan's sister Marion Kember lives - and Marion's childhood friend Zaylai Ateley may be the next victim.

The clock is ticking. In a world where no one can be trusted, anyone can be the next to die. Time is running out...

Excerpt: At the Edge of Time

Jonathan and Diers raced across the street, their footsteps muffled by the snow.
"This way!" Diers was faster than Jonthan was and had reached the end of the street . He gestured to Jon, his long blond hair whipping out of sight as he disappeared round the corner.
Jon ran as fast as he could, barely keeping up with detective. They reached the entrance to the alley, both out of breathe by their sprint.
Diers slowed to a stop, motioning at Jonathan to be as quiet as possible. He pulled out a pistol from his belt.
Gazing nervously around him, Jonathan took in as much of the dank, filthy alleyway as he could. It was cramped, and the sunlight filtering in casted eerie shadows across the alley. He jumped when several rats scampered out of a crack in the wall.

"Who's there?!" shouted Jonathan, completely forgetting Bryan Diers's warning to be quiet. He started to run forward to try and find whoever it was, but Diers held out an arm to stop him.
In the gloom, Jonathan heard the click of Diers's pistol. Diers walked slowly towards the source of the noise, his pistol aimed in front of him.
A small figure shot out from the darkness with a yell. Diers flinched and shot at the it before he could make out what it was.
The figure dodged the bullet, stumbling out into a chink of light.
It was Zaylai. Her street clothes were torn and dirty, her face half-hidden by the cap she usually wore. Jonathan could see blood running down the side of her face. Her wide eyes were fearful, and Jon noticed that she was shivering.
Jonathan and Diers glanced at each other for a second, both uncertain. Then Diers crouched down besides the girl.
"Zaylai Ateley. What happened?" Diers placed his hands on Zaylai's shoulders and peered at her, trying to get her to talk. Zaylai's eyes flickered nervously towards the dark corner she'd appeared from.
Diers turned to Jonathan.
"Take my pistol and find out what's in there."
Jonathan gulped and nodded. He picked up the weapon, walking shakily into the dark alley as though he was heading towards his execution.
