I give for you all you lucky fellows my entire prologue, enjoy:

Prologue: In A Place Far Away...

A long time from now, in a very far off place. A colony had an uprising against their governors, all of whom were members of Solar Harmony Inc. A group which had control over every continent, every state and province, and their laws were strict. People were prone to giving up occasional protests, until after many heartbreaking crack-downs the inhabitants of earth had given up the chase for a new solar order. It must not be thought that it was all made of prison camps, for Solar Harmony Inc. had seized power through equality and promises of peace. Of which there was, equality for the low classes and peace for all who did not fight. All things cultural, all things artistic and creative were lost. It did not coincide with Solar Harmony's grand scheme for things. Eventually, on the recently terriformed Mars Colony; a revolution was formed.

The tyranny on this colony had only started only a month after the terra-forming had reached a breathable atmosphere. There was a genetically bred shrub grass that was quickly covering the planets surface that would thicken the atmosphere and several gravity balls made of iron were in orbit around the planet: these would slowly heat up the core of the planet and create a magnetic field to protect the precious, thin atmosphere.

It all began when Director Florance instated the new uniforms and regulations for the colonists under the "Order and Investment Act." It stated that every colonist was to wear rank and work station on the outside of their grey and black Enviro-thermal suits. This was not bad, but the work load changed drastically, the few rights left to the people were stripped of them, the child limit was taken off in favor of selective breeding. They took a percentage of the most docile, healthy females as 'reproductive class' workers. Director Florance also increased the working hours of the Mars citizens to encompass 15 hours per day in hard labor programming terriformational codes, manufacturing city building drones, working agraplots growing food in the or working at the Mutigen facility. -Mutigen is a company completely devoted to the creation of new and useful species by way of random radiational experimentation. There were no animals ever taken to the Mars colony except for those brought to be herded and eaten, or taken to the Mutigen Kennels.
Mut
Rapidly, dissention spread throughout the colonists, many of them rioted in mass, bludgeoning their way through the lines of guards and into the mansion of Director Florance. There would have been much more blood, had their been the more materials for weaponry on mars. Not a single gun, nor bottle of mustered gas had been taken on the supplies to the colony. In fact, until the riots; there was no un-tapered-with media given to the public. No free spirited music was played, and the two daily television programs were required viewing, with punishments for those who avoided watching them before and after their shifts of work. For the most part; the colony was all contained within the Hellas basin -an impact crater 30,000 feet deep and 1,400 miles wide. In here the pressure was highest it is possible, after about 40 years of Terraforming: to support liquid water on the surface.

These riots, crude fights between men with padded armor and tazers and ten times their number of angry, unarmed citizens did not last very long. Many of the guards in fact joined the riot rather than be beaten to death by the hoards of flocking citizens. It took a long time to decide for the Interplanetary Board of Directors (Head honchos of Solar Harmony Inc.) to decide on what coarse to take on the colony. Director Florance had escaped to Earth (now called Terra-Prime) in an emergency capsule and after much deliberation he convinced the Board to commission the first nuclear warhead to be constructed in over one-hundred and fifty years. They also agreed to keep this rebellion under wraps to the public, and at that Solar Harmony was especially good at.

And so it was, within three weeks Earth was armed with 2 interplanetary missiles targeted for the Hellas Basin Colonial Headquarters. It would be many more days before they arrived, and the colonists themselves were merely entranced by their new lives. Lives free to do as they please, which of course was at first a lawless, lewd orgy of celebration at the prospect. The transmission stands where news shows were normally showed had been bashed to pieces, some picking up a murmur of static radio waves, others lay dead, quiet and black.
Almost immediately after the rebellion had succeeded some of the rioters went back to work, knowing not what else to do. Many more tried to learn more about their new freedom and modified their Enviro-Thermal suits to look unique, stylizing them with bits of cloth, removing their work station badges, and in some cases attempting to sew together new clothes just for them. Though there was still violence, the new, alien act of fighting still waged on, over one thing or another, there were arguments on what to do next, and a group of the wisest and most headstrong men and women were getting together to discuss the future of their new sovereign, crater-state.

They did not expect it when the nuclear bombs hit, there was no notice from the so called Solar Harmony Incorporate. They hit, and all went silent, much of the crater ley in ruins, much more was destroyed then by the rioters. Very few survived out of the 437,801 colonists survived...

Some did survive however, and they did go on to do well for themselves considering the circumstances. There still was a couple of operational nuclear power plants and some radioactive herds of a genetically weak and especially meaty bison-like creature called Kolappo's, that, and the grand mainframe- a computer memory device that held an insurmountable collection of information. A backup copy of the Internet one of us might call it. though we would think it to be highly censored; the survivors, who had never before heard or seen free creativity flourish would find it to be the most viscus and wonderful thing that they had ever found.

Time past and the Solar Harmony Board of Directors wished very much to forget about the old Mars colony, they had false news occasionally about it so that no one would raise suspicion as to why they were not allowed to transfer to Mars to start up industries, they were told that there was currently no room for their desired martian factories, or them or that it was a bad time for transfers to mars due to a wrongly coded sequence in the terraforming mainframe. Both preposterous ideas, yet this was a populace not very keen on inquiring against their government.

Generations went by, memories augmented and ideas segregated, and now he irradiated martian radicals segregated into gangs, co-operatives and sub-nations that grew feuds between them, some of them desperately wanted back in the good graces of the Interplanetary Board of Directors. That was a small minority, yet still prevalent in some areas- such as the inhabitants of the old Mutigen facility. Others just wanted to live out their lives peacefully, farming the agraplots and keeping order in small, militia-defended groups of a hundred or so people. The various gangs ranged from small groups of bandits and thugs. Some are stalwart 'Anti-Harmony' vigilantes, who wanted back at the Earth's-government for presumably launching those legendary missiles that caused all this hardship.
