Synopsis: The Last Soldier of Sparta

Triya was born into an obsolete people. Their magic had kept them safe from the Macedonians and then the Romans, earning them an island of irrelevant sovereignty amidst the empires of the world. When the oracle predicted that Triya would be the final soldier to save her people, no one cared but the Spartans. Yet they cared deeply, anxious over its meaning. Why would they need saving? What could it mean that they would be saved for the last time? And how could Triya become a soldier, when she was born a girl?
