Synopsis:
It might the apocalypse or maybe it's just a supremely bad week, but Foster Kells is at his wits end either way.
Excerpt:
The sign said, ‘break glass in case of emergency’, and all things considered, Foster figured that breaking the glass would be an excellent idea. He expected a fire extinguisher or a first aid kit or maybe, if he was really lucky, one of those tiny axes.
Instead of any of those helpful things, a few links of rusty chain fell into his (now bleeding and scratched from the initial breaking of the glass) palm. There was a little charm attached, but if anything had been printed on the little oval, it was well worn off now. Foster groaned, hitting his head against the wall behind him a few times. Of all the stupid situations in his life, this was probably in the top ten. Well, the top twenty for sure.
