Brief Author Bio: I've done Nano twice and finished. The first novel, Afraid of the Moon, was pretty good--after all, it was about me! The second was a horrible ghost story, The Crow Field, and I was so scared that the heroine basically fled her house and never went back. I have that awful novel printed out on my closet shelf and I'm ashamed to read it. This time I guess I'll write about me some more. Why not? Who cares more than me about me? |

Synopsis: House Behind Two Trees
Unworldly and ingenuous, Charles and Mary are like Hansel and Gretel in their little house in the deep woods, where they have lived comfortably together for many years.
Anne, an artist who builds a cabin nearby, is pretty and talented, and a murderer...
Excerpt: House Behind Two Trees
Chapter Two Zillion and Ten
Mary didn’t know how she understood it, but the air was thick with change, with things shifting slightly…the house felt haunted, as if candlesticks were about to topple over in empty rooms, or windows open and shut.
If Charles had cut his arm with a kitchen knife she would have contrived a tourniquet to save him; she could have given him CPR. She could have put out a simple house fire, nursed him through flu, pulled him away from a savage dog.
She couldn’t save him from Anne, from being bewitched.
