AKS III (the Quest Continues!)
an excerpt
"No.. Oh No!!" she shrieked. It's not Halloween, it's NaNoWriMo Eve, and last year's word pile is still not edited. How can the Quest continue? Characters are hanging in mid air; souls are lost and wandering around without their properly defined environments.
"Well, time was in the eye of the beholder," you said last year (right here), "So, just jump into Sir Anthony Hopkin's Slipstream and slide on through to the Other Side. In other words, let's do the Time Warp again!"
Then Phil interrupted, "They hired someone to create 'connecting parts' for some of my unfinished work? Please don't tell me who -- it will really upset me."
"Shit," I said, "I don't blame you. I can't imagine who would write connecting parts for my stuff. It's in terrible disarray." That's when I realized, there's no choice -- I have to do it myself and get it done NOW before I end up with "Unfinished Business."
None of this blather is part of my story... Well, it actually IS my story, just not written that way in the "novel." The perpetually incomplete novel -- the one that must be finished ASAP. And, in my continuing Genre Quandary, I just switched myself out of New Age and over to Adventure. After all, AKS is structured on the Hero's Journey and it's certainly a Quest -- The Ultimate Quest, actually. Check back, I may post some here... we'll see!
For now, let the writing begin and the editing, well, it will simply have to wait. This, my dear fellow Nanoers, is a Write Brain activity. Ho ho! It's off to Nano we go... Those Ninjas are lurking right there in that Adventure Lounge!! YIKES!!!
