Walking to school is quite the ordeal.
I walk two blocks in the opposite direction of my ultimate destination and then one more block north to pick Elizaveta up at her house, walk back the same way I came and then five blocks more to the school.
That has been my weekday morning routine since Sixth Grade when we were going to the middle school right across the street from the high school, where we are starting Ninth Grade. Every day I’ve done this and every day I’ll keep doing it.
Veta is never waiting outside for me like she should, but I never say anything about it. It’s not worth it.
So I wait for her every morning, outside her house. I never go inside even during the winter. Her parents are awake and bustling about and Veta says that they don’t much like me. I don’t understand how, seeing as I’ve never met them. But again. Not worth it to say anything.
