“Says here, you are afraid of going back to your home country,” I asked looking at his paperwork from immigration. “What are you afraid of?”
He looked at me intently. His young face a stark contrast to his eyes that looked like old soldier’s eyes.
“What are you afraid of,” Raul repeated. He tilted his head up, thinking. “Shadows,” he finally replied, “I am afraid of shadows.”
