Synopsis: The Amber Thief

Silas Rodin is the most skilled thief in three kingdoms, with a specialty in stealing magical objects - from mages. When a notorious countess takes interest in him he can hardly ignore her, or her offer. The job is a fantasic challenge: go to the country of Valehaven to steal the most coveted, closely guarded and powerful magical object in the world from the most famous, mysterious and powerful magical family in the world.
That turns out to be the easy part.
Silas also discovers that Valehaven is suffering from a slow, epidemic loss of magical power even in its strongest families, a plague that not even its finest scholars and sorcerers can solve. Silas has become an expert in magic so that he can be an expert in stealing it. He thinks he knows the answer to the magic loss, so simple that no one else can see it.
Unfortunately he's too busy - hiding from the family he robbed, dodging the frighteningly organized ring of thieves in Valehaven and the keeping out of sight of the royal mages of the King himself - to do anything about it.
