I don't want to put up a novel excerpt, so instead, here's a poem I wrote about spoiled fruit.
A Poem About Feeling Blue
My blueberries were moldy
when I opened the carton today.
I saw white fuzz upon blue skin
and my heart filled with dismay.
My blueberries were moldy
and my fruiten treasure lost -
to a microscopic fungi -
and now sadly must be tossed.
My blueberries were moldy
and though I am irate,
I must say I am thankful
that I looked before I ate.
