His skin was lightly kissed by the sun and his eyes were blue but had a fabulously clear gold band around the iris. They were the kind of eyes she could lose herself in and temporarily forget what she was. His dark hair was thick and wavy as he wore it shoulder length. Carolisa came to him as a mortal, drawn to his beauty in a way that defied their status in mortality. She was warned repeatedly by the vultures and the King to refrain from interacting with Leland, but her heart, as cold as it was, could not be persuaded away from him.
