David tried to scream but nothing came out. He could not jump from the tractor; his hands were locked to the hard plastic of the steering wheel. He slammed down the clutch with one foot and kicked the gears into reverse with the other foot. The gears ground and screeched. But no matter how hard David pressed on the accelerator, he could not get the tractor to move away from the floating man.
