Cry of Souls

“Cameo.”
“S’cuse me?” He looked up at her.
“It’s my name…Cameo.” Maybe he had an aversion to naming his food? After all, who could eat steak and think of Elsie the cow? The odd thought distracted her a little from her fears.
“It fits.” Her nearly white hair and pale skin actually did resemble the carved faces of the cameos. He decided to tell her his name, maybe she’d stop thinking he was going to jump her and let him concentrate for a minute or two.
“Kezred.”
“Is that your name?”
“Last time I checked, Sweetness, now why don’t you sit down and relax for a minute so I can think.” He patted the floor next to where he sat in invitation.
Cameo shook her head, she wasn’t going anywhere near him. She looked around the small room and finally picked a spot to one side of the door and sat down, she had her own thinking to do.
