Synopsis: The Coconut Defense
Logline: A motley crew joins forces to stop a serial killer on a small tropical island.
Book Genre: YA/mystery/ cozy mystery
Story genre: I'm thinking dudes/dudettes with a problem.
This is "archived history now: Novel originally given working title Nanocity 2009. Already changed.
Um--It's November 1, 2009 and I've decided today that I don't really want to write that sequel to last year's historical fiction novel. Instead, I'm writing a novel based on dares. So dare me!
So far, it's set in Saipan, CNMI. It has a Chamorro teen FMC named Jules, her father (who is basically Chamorro, but also 1/4 Polish), 3 younger brothers, an aging haole cheerleader. I've got 2 military guys, also Chamorros I think (but possibly Carolinians) off stage. Two big Samoans showed up yesterday, along with 2 kid friends of the youngest brother.
It's getting crowded. Something is bound to happen.
EDIT: 11/13/2009. Yes, Friday the 13th. Since last I wrote, I've added a Chamorro librarian and her pissy boss, a cute best friend for Jules, a taxi driver, a photographer, and oh yeah--a dead body belonging to one Ellen Tenorio Camacho.
I think there will more of those coming to light this weekend.
