Synopsis:

Octavia is chronically unimpressed with her life. Nothing has turned out as she once hoped, and she finds herself stuck in a teaching job that she hates. An announced pay cut doesn't help her pessimism. To make things worse, someone in her neighborhood is trying to blackmail her into cutting her grass. Of course, that won't matter if she can't afford to keep her beloved Victorian house.

The last thing she wants is Mimi, her ex-husband's daughter. Mimi is wrongly convinced that Octavia is the mother who abandoned her as a baby, and shows up hoping to get to know her. When Mimi refuses to go away, Octavia sees a potential roommate who could help pay the bills.
