Brief Author Bio: Crystal loves to read great writing and hopes someday that reading list includes at least one novel of her own. In the face of multiple tragedies in her lifetime, Crystal desires to turn all the perceived negative events into good things by writing out some happy endings. Some of those happy endings have even come to pass. Crystal's first two attempts at NaNo were winners in word count but not completed novels. This year, 2009, Crystal plans to actually finish the novel she starts and to have a real manuscript ready for March for NaNoEdMo. In the spirit of her favorite parody quote, "The Lord is my Editor, I shall rewrite," Crystal is planning to revisit the characters from her first novel for a complete rewrite, this time with an actual plot in mind. All that said, if she fails to communicate as much as she should with fellow members of Louisville Christian Writers, or submitters to her non-fiction compilation, Good Morning Christian Writer, find her on here and see if her word count gives her a proper excuse. Finally, Crystal is super excited about participating this year. The previous two years were spent in recovery from surgeries, but the lack of NaNo in her life made her feel even emptier than the missing disk in her neck. In other words, first person words that is, I'm back. Yay! |

Synopsis: A Cloudy Day on Sunshine Street
Luke heard all the horror stories of foster care from his parents. Sure, they survived and even met and fell in love in a foster home, but he had heard enough to know he never wanted to live that life himself. Now, to avoid foster care, Luke was on the run and on the streets.
Where would it all end? Would Luke ever get over the guilt of leaving his little brother behind to endure foster care? Would the sunshine ever return to his life and allow him to pursue the artistic desires he had before a drunk took the lives of both of his parents? Or, would Luke die on the streets, hopelessly surrounded by the dark day that changed his life forever?
