Synopsis: Amaranthine Doubt
If it's true that each moment makes a difference, what if one moment could change everything? Imagine an alternate course of history, an elevated space race and the quest for purpose all induced by one driver's snap decision to drive Archduke Franz Ferdinand down the correct road.
Excerpt: Amaranthine Doubt
That was the beauty of the spacecraft’s design. We had transfigured a way to convert nothing into something, a lack of anything into breathable, sustainable air. We felt like gods. We might have been. On earth we were certainly seen as something inhuman. How could normal people live longer lives, sustain themselves on nothing, deal with real human problems and otherworldly issues without breaking down? Because we had to. There was no option involved. We had volunteered our lives, and if one gave up, the rest would fail. And then humanity would fail. And none of us wanted that on our consciences before bed.
